Shop Small Gift Guide: Must Have Stocking Stuffers for Babies and Toddlers
Christmas can be sooo overwhelming for us moms. We’re trying to make the holidays magical for the whole family, stick to a budget, and if you’re anything like me – try to do so while supporting as many small businesses as you can. It can be hard to even know where to begin. I decided to take it upon myself to do some of the digging for you to help you fill the stockings of the littlest ones in the family, while also supporting some of my favorite small businesses!
My Favorite Small Businesses for Baby Gifts
Teether Lovey: These are so great for babies to hold on to and snuggle with. They add just a bit of warmth without all the bulk in car seats or strollers. They come in a variety of adorable prints, with a soft fluffy or furry fabric on the back for little fingers to explore, and the organic wooden teether ring is easy for babies to grab hold of and chew on. Find them at Lulu and Louise Baby on Etsy.
Nursery Prints: Why not give your baby something beautiful to look at adorning the walls of her nursery. These colorful watercolor prints from Jess Buhman Art would be a fun addition to your home, and something that they will grow with and cherish for years to come.
Felt Garlands: This is along the same lines as art for their room – but kids end up with so many toys, that I just love being able to enhance their worlds in different ways. A colorful room can help spark their imagination. I love the color combinations of Handcrafted Buffalo – or create a custom design like I did.
Hats: I just love adding a fun new hat to my kiddos’ stockings. For winter, you can’t beat Nickichicki – she has the biggest, most amazing poms you will ever see.
Mobile: These bright and colorful wool mobiles from Wooly Sheet Dots are absolutely stunning and would be great for little ones to stare at from their crib.
Pacifier Clips: These fashionable clips double as sensory play and teething beads. You can’t get more multi-functional than that! Check them out at Clever Finch Designs.
Mini Rag Quilt: Another Find from Lulu and Louise Baby that is just PERFECT for a stocking. These cozy mini quilts wrap snuggly around little legs in a car seat, are soft to hold and rub on tiny cheeks at nap time, or would make a darling baby doll blanket as you little one grows.
Gifts That Give Back
These companies donate a percentage of their profits to those in need – which makes this momma thrilled to support
Doll: Cuddle and Kind hand knit dolls make my list this year, because not only do they make ADORABLE stuffed dolls, but they are a company with an amazing mission. Every doll you purchase gives 10 meals to children in need. What better place to spend your money this holiday season!
Ring Sling: This might seem like it’s more for you than for baby, but trust me – my kiddos LOVE baby carriers and it is absolutely a gift for them as well. My favorite brand is Poppet. They are easy to use, buttery soft, super fashionable, and they donate 10% to charity. That’s a win for everyone.
Hair Bows: One of my most favorite shops to purchase hair bows, headbands and flowers is from Bumbelou. She has so much more than just bows too! What I love about her is that she donates 10% of her profits to various charities. Another purchase you can feel good about making.
Toothbrush: I don’t know about you, but growing up we ALWAYS got a new toothbrush in our stockings. What I love about the Humble Brush is that it is eco friendly with it’s biodegradable and sustainably sources bamboo handle. As if that wasn’t reason enough, they are a brand that gives back helping children in need with oral care.
Felt Animals: I absolutely adore these modern and beautiful felt dolls from Mulxiply. What I love even more is how this company works to build up economies in developing countries – such as Nepal – by creating artisanal based jobs that use techniques of their heritage to provide employment in areas with little or no formal education reducing their risk of trafficking.
